Toscolano Maderno

The municipality of Toscolano Maderno is located on a peninsula divided in two by the Toscolano river that descends from the mountains along the Cartiere Valley and flows into Lake Garda. The origins of Toscolano Maderno date back to Roman times, of which some testimonies with the remains of ancient villas remain.
This location was also the cradle of Italian paper production; along the Cartiere Valley there are numerous factories, of which today you can admire the ruins and learn about their industrial development by visiting the Paper Museum, obtained inside an ancient renovated factory. There are also numerous artistic and cultural testimonies both in Maderno and Toscolano with different historical eras.
There are also beach activities on the long equipped beaches, as well as naturalistic and sports with the possibility of trekking, mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding, as well as golf in nearby Bogliaco.
